Thank you, Little Kimba!

Surprise! Surprise! Look what arrived from Brazil! A Rag Doll for Ashley and a Smiley Stuffie for me!

Enclosed was a sweet note from Little Kimba and also an explanation about Emilia the rag doll.

Emilia is as big as Ashley.

Here is a bit about Emilia:
"This is Emilia. She is a very famous rag doll from a collection of books for children. This collection is called "Sitio do Picapau Amarelo" and is written by Monteiro Lobato. Emilia is rag doll who moves and thinks like a smart, daring and irreverent human being. When you talk about a Brazilian rag doll, you're talking about Emilia."

Me and My Smiley.

Thank you so much Kimba and Family for your special gifts! We love them!!!

I Miss Grandma

Grandma went back to Singapore on Saturday after spending two months with us in Taipei.

After packing her luggage, she sat down to put on her shoes, I quickly sat very close to her cause I know she was going to leave us and that made her cry.

One last scratchie before she leaves.

I can't tell you how sad I am feeling.

This squeaky pig was a present from Grandma, I will always think of her when I play with it.

Grandma, thank you so much for taking such good care of me, Mommy, Daddy and Ashley while you were here. We miss you already and please don't take too long to visit us again! We love you!!!

Yummy Spanish Food in Taipei

Mommy has been busy taking care of Ashley and does not have time to maintain her blog at http://taipeiwife.blogspot.com anymore, so she asked for my help to blog about eating out in Taipei and sharing photos of delicious food with our friends.

Last week, they went to a Spanish Restaurant for a "All you can eat" buffet dinner and it was really good! Pity it was not a dog-friendly restaurant. Growl.....

Ashley went along too, she didn't look quite comfortable in that car seat, but it is mandatory to be buckled up. Anyway, she loves car rides and she always sleeps until we reach our destination.

Barcelona, that's the name of the restaurant!
Address: 106 台北市 大安區 延吉街131巷26號1樓
Tel: (02)8772-6753
Operating Hours: 12:00 ~ 14:30 and 18:00 ~ 23:00

They have live singing on Fridays and Belly and Flamingo Dancing on Saturdays.

The restaurant has a nice cozy feel.

It was all packed on a Friday night.

The tapas were all excellent and the pizzas were especially yummy. In fact, they enjoyed every dish that they ordered.

Mom had not drank a drop of alcohol since she found out that she was pregnant with Ashley. She was very happy that night because she finally got to drink some sangria.

This was the singer, she has a beautiful voice and it made the dinner even more enjoyable.

Have a great weekend everyone, eat well and have fun!

Golf Balls and Beaches

I have not been going out much since the arrival of my sister, Ashley and my parents were feeling a little guilty about not giving me as much attention as before, so they decided to make it up to me and try to include me in their outings as much as possible.

Dad found a golf driving range near our new place and took the whole family out to watch him swing some clubs. That was not exactly a good idea cause the whole time, I was trying to be Dad's caddie to help him retrieve his golf balls and Mom had a hard time controlling me, so it looks like this is going to be my last trip to the driving range. Sigh.....

I kept a close watch on Ashley while they had dinner there.

The weather looked good on Saturday and we decided to go to the White Sand Beach which is about half an hour's drive from home. It was a really hot day, so Ashley stayed at home with Grandma.

The beach certainly looked inviting, but the sand was too scorching hot and the heat was unbearable and so, we did not go into the water.

There are many shops like this selling floats and beach wear.

We ended up in Hana's Beach Cafe for shelter and lunch.

Dad had Beef with Rice and Mom had Tuna Omelet.

It was nice to stay out of the sun, guess we will have to conquer the beach again either in the evenings or when it is cooler.

I did not go swimming, but I was sure exhausted after the day's outing. ZZZzzz...

Ashley's First Checkup

Two days after turning one month old, Ashley went for her first checkup at the hospital.

First, she had her temperature taken.

Then, she was put on the scale, she was 3.4kg/7.5lbs at birth and now she is almost 5kg/11lbs.

This was followed by measuring her height. She was 49 cm/19.3 in and now she is 55 cm/21.7 in.

Next was getting her first month's vaccination. Ouch!

She let out her loudest cry since birth and her face turned bright red.

5 seconds later, she was snoozing.....Zzzzz.... Guess it was not that painful after all.

Finally, she got her ears checked and she passed the hearing tests on both ears.

That same night, Dad watched TV while she slept on his chest. Just look at that mouth! It cracks me up!

Ashley, I can't wait to share my toys with you!
