Woohoo!!! Let's go to Penfold Park (彭福公園)!!!

Last Saturday must have been my happiest day since my arrival in Hong Kong. I have been looking at horses galloping everyday because we live very near the racecourse, then we heard there is a park nearby and decided to check it out. What a gem!!!

The beautifully landscaped Penfold Park (彭福公園) is managed by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and it covers an area of over 20 acres. The park is located right in the middle of the Shatin Racecourse and it is closed on Mondays and race days.

Penfold Park was a venue for equestrian events during the 2008 Summer Olympics which was held in Beijing. The park is also a popular place for bird watching and it is nice walking among the colorfully painted horse statues.

I hope I get to go there every weekend. Happy Weekend everyone!!!

Long overdue update on my arrival in Hong Kong

So, I arrived two weeks ago.... it has not been fun. Everyone has been busy settling down and unpacking 83 cartons was crazy! We have too many things and too little storage space!!!

Sadly, Hong Kong is not as dog friendly as Taipei. Here, I have to be muzzled whenever I am walking around my estate.  Below is a pic of miserable me!

Anyhow, I am happy to report that everyone in the household is doing well and we finally had time to explore our new neighborhood over the weekend and we found an amazing place for me to run around. A video is in the making, so look out for it!

Meanwhile, here are some pics of me and my sis:

And some funny faces of Ms Ashley:

Have a good week everyone!!! We will be back!!!!

Hello Hong Kong

Hello everyone! This is Ashley reporting from Ashley Road in Hong Kong!!! Yes, we are now in The City that Never Sleeps in Asia!

My brother, Dino will be joining us in a few days and we are in the process of getting our new home ready to welcome him. Hong Kong is basically divided into 3 parts, Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula and the New Territories. For now, let me take you on a short tour of Tsim Sha Tsui on Kowloon Peninsula, a major tourist hub in Hong Kong.

Walking around we chanced upon an exhibition by the world famous Brazilian Neo-Pop artist Romero Britto! Here are some of his works.

While strolling towards the Star Ferry Pier, we spotted a beautiful old Spanish ship, it is a 17th-century Spanish replica called "Galeon Andalucia" which is in the city to promote economic and cultural ties between China and Spain.

Moving on, we managed to catch the gorgeous sunset at Victoria Harbor.

Here is the former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower which is a famous landmark of Hong Kong.

Looking across the harbor are awesome views of the buildings on Hong Kong Island. The tallest building you see is the International Finance Centre (IFC).

We saw some colorful lanterns near the clock tower.

I have to start making plans for Halloween.

Ahhhh!!!! Minnie Mouse! Mom says we are going to the Disneyland here soon! Yay!

Wow! Aqua Luna! A dazzling red Chinese Junk Boat that offers sightseeing cruises along the harbor.

We just had to do the tourist stuff and pose for an instant photo at one of the booths along the promenade.

On our way back, the skyscrapers across started to light up and I must say Hong Kong has one of the most beautiful harbor views in the world.

We will be back when we get reunited with Dino. Stay tuned and have a fabulous weekend!
