Last month on a Saturday night, we went to Vieshow Cinemas in Xinyi District for dinner and we managed to see the pack of goldens and a border collie who always attract a huge crowd when they are there on weekends.
Vieshow Cinemas, which has 17 cinemas is Taiwan's biggest 24-hour megaplex and it is busy all day long. It is located near big shopping malls, like Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, New York New York and Taipei 101. The area with wide pedestrian walkways is also a popular place to hang out especially on weekends. There are many street artists and performers, magicians and booths selling all kinds of handicrafts.

The most exciting part of the night must be witnessing the pack of goldens performing frisbee with a border collie. There were about 12 golden retrievers and 2 border collies that day. They are street performers and they are always there on weekends from about 8pm to 12am. Their owner is a middle aged man and he told us that all in all, he has a total of about 20 golden retrievers! Wow!!! It was also very interesting to see the border collie displaying his herding skills as he keeps the goldens close together.
In between breaks when the pack took rests, everyone went forward to hug, pet and take photos with them. They were all very calm and obedient. Mom was in heaven as it was a rare sight to see so many goldens in one day and at a single spot!
The Vieshow area is a wonderful place to enhance my socialization skills, so we will be making it a point to go there often. Hopefully we will get to see the amazing pack again. Hope you like the video clip below:
