What does Summer means?

Summer has not officially started and it's hot hot hot here in Hong Kong!!! It's about 32°C/90°F during the day and I am suffering! For me, summer means hot spots are here to stay.

I have been battling a severe case of hot spots since last month and Mom had to bring me to the groomer's for my early summer cut again! Here's one last photo before I said goodbye to all my glorious hair!

And now, I have transformed into a lion again!!!

No, I am a Friendly Lion.

We were all surprised that I didn't look that fat afterall! Take a look at my previous summer cuts here. It's nice to feel cooler and lighter now. Come run around with me at Penfold Park in my latest video below:

Pearly Whites for The New Year

There is something that I have never been proud of and that is my teeth! My enamel was severely damaged as I had distemper as a puppy and they have never looked good.

See the yellowish brown stain on my teeth? Those must be plague accumulated over the last four years! I have never been to the dentist before, so earlier this month, Mom decided that it was high time I get my teeth cleaned.

I had to spend the entire day at the dentist because I had to be put under general anesthesia for the cleaning. That wasn't fun and the worst thing was that I had to fast for 12 hours before the procedure.

I didn't come around until quite late and that got my parents worried. They dropped me off before 12pm and only got to pick me up at 9pm.

Although there is nothing I can do about my damaged enamel, I am happy to report that I have clean sparkly teeth now. They definitely look whiter too!

The vet ran a couple of tests before my teeth cleaning to ensure that I am fit for the procedure and he certified me to be in very good health. Hooray!!!

Now, someone has to make sure that my teeth gets brushed regularly so I do not have to visit the dentist so soon again.

An Early Summer Hair Cut

Summer has not officially started, but I am already spotting my new lion haircut a few weeks ago. I really have no choice because I have been getting hot spots again, not sure if it is due to the high humidity or the stress from boarding because the humans went on trips without me again!

And you know what? I look like a barrel after the hair cut. Where did my waist go? I got weighed in at the vet and horrors of horrors! I am 41kg/90lbs!!! So, now I have to be on a strict diet to shed off the extra fats. :(

Anyhow, I do like my new hairdo, it makes me feel younger, lighter and cooler. Below are some pics from My Secret Garden.

Happy Year of The Tiger!!!

 

Hello Friends!!! Apologies for disappearing for the whole month of February! I can't believe it is March already! Dad, Mom and Ashley were back in Singapore for the Chinese New Year holidays and I went for boarding for two weeks and ended up with a horrible hot spot on my forehead right below my birthmark! So, the dreaded cone is back. To make things worse, I threw up five times when I got back. Anyhow, the vomiting has stopped and the hot spot is healing nicely. Phew...

 

Mom is super upset because she reformatted her old laptop without making a backup of my mails and they are all now gone with the wind! All the emails that I have received from my friends all over the world for the past few years have all vanished and I have lost all their email addresses too! If you are reading this now, please send me a mail at dino@lovedino.com so that I can continue to keep in touch with you. I am terribly sorry to for not being able to answer some of your mails as a result. I am still thinking if I should forgive Mom for her grave mistake.

Something is growing on my face!

After hearing about Augie, Mom started to get worried about me too. Sometime around Christmas, she discovered a pink cauliflower wart about 3mm/1/8inch on my muzzle.

She is thinking maybe it is due to aging or something, but if it gets any bigger, I will have to pay a visit to the vet. I hope it will not grow bigger or better still, just drop off on its own. Yikes! These things are scary!

Time for my yearly vaccination

It's the time of the year again to have my annual health check and vaccinations up to date. I had to go to a new vet because my old one is too faraway from my current apartment.

A New Summer Cut

Roar!!! Hear the Lion Roar!!!!


So this is my new summer cut, it is a hair-cut for golden retrievers quite unique to Taipei as I have never seen this hairstyle anywhere else before.


The groomer gave me a nifty bandana after the shave.

I was shaved for the first time then. This time round, the cut is a lot fancier, don't you think?


The ticks are gone, but I still have to wear the dreaded e-collar. Grandma has been cleaning my wounds several times a day and they are healing well. Sigh... can't wait to get the collar off!
