There is something that I have never been proud of and that is my teeth! My enamel was severely damaged as I had distemper as a puppy and they have never looked good.
See the yellowish brown stain on my teeth? Those must be plague accumulated over the last four years! I have never been to the dentist before, so earlier this month, Mom decided that it was high time I get my teeth cleaned.
I had to spend the entire day at the dentist because I had to be put under general anesthesia for the cleaning. That wasn't fun and the worst thing was that I had to fast for 12 hours before the procedure.
I didn't come around until quite late and that got my parents worried. They dropped me off before 12pm and only got to pick me up at 9pm.
Although there is nothing I can do about my damaged enamel, I am happy to report that I have clean sparkly teeth now. They definitely look whiter too!
The vet ran a couple of tests before my teeth cleaning to ensure that I am fit for the procedure and he certified me to be in very good health. Hooray!!!
Now, someone has to make sure that my teeth gets brushed regularly so I do not have to visit the dentist so soon again.
Have a good weekend, everyone!

I always enjoy visiting here.

It's a little bit of work to keep your gnashers clean, for sure, but it's worth it in the long run.

Wow, I love your pearlies! Now that certainly put ideas in my mum's head - mummy wanted to sent me to the dentist to have my dirty teeth cleaned too but she is worried about the GA. You see, one of her friend's dog underwent GA to have his teeth cleaned but he never woke up after that!
Could you share with me the cost for cleaning your teeth too? Thanks!
Wow! The dentist did a very good job with your teeth!
You don't have to brush a dog's teeth, or ever take them to the dentist (emergencies excepted) if they are fed a raw diet. Raw meaty bones will keep their teeth sparkling white. And I MEAN white. Not off-white, not slightly yellow, WHITE.
No wet dog smell, no poop odor, no diarrhea or constipation, no weight problems, no yellow teeth, NO doggie breath (their breath shouldn't smell - EVER), an extremely shiny and soft coat,
an impeccable immune system (eliminating the need for vaccinations), ETC.
If the benefits aren't enough, then think of the detriments. (Opposite of all listed above.)
Dog food like Purina, Iams, and Science Diet (to name a few), recycle euthanized dogs and cats to use in their pet food. (You can find the videos of this all over Youtube.)
They label it on the packages as "bone meal", "meat meal", "protein meal", etc.
Sorry for assuming, and for just dropping off this comment in your blog randomly. Just trying to spread the word.
Your blog looks amazing, and your love for your furry friend shines through in all of your posts. :)
