Dog Run @ Tampines Central Park

Greetings, my friends! It's Dumbledore here again! I am here to tell you all something very interesting that Ashley did last Sunday! She went to the dog run at Tampines Central Park and she was extremely lucky to be able to play with 10 dogs there!

There was even a big golden retriever and he was super cute! There were all types of dogs, even a wippet who seemed to run as fast as Usain Bolt, the fastest man on Earth! Watching the dogs sprinting around was like watching the Dog Olympics. It was so cool! She even played fetch with them and got slobbered all over! Those dogs were extremely friendly and fun to play with. Here is a video of Ashley playing with them at the dog run! Do check it out if you are in the neighbourhood.

I think I want a dog now! (Wait, I'm a hamster-)

Yours faithfully,

Introducing Dumbledore the Hamster!

Hello everyone! I am Dumbledore the Russian Winter White Dwarf Hamster and I am Ashley's very first hamster! Dino is busy gallivanting with his friends over at the Rainbow Bridge, so I will be taking over his blog and I am absolutely thrilled!

My handsome face

I went home with Ashley on the 15th of December 2020, when I was only a one month old tiny wisp of fur. When the pet shop auntie took me out of my tank, from my beloved siblings, I was frightened because I knew that it was my turn to be brought home by a human! It was what my siblings called "The Unlucky Day", and we all dreaded our turn to come! I had seen my previous siblings, who had already been brought home by a human, screaming and struggling to wriggle out of the pet shop auntie's hands. I was absolutely terrified! The auntie put me in a little cardboard box and a strange child with short hair, wearing glasses brought me home!

Ashley holding me in a cardboard box. Help!!! 😨

When we reached home, I was greeted by excited squeals and unfamiliar scents. I was scared because this was my first time alone without my siblings, surrounded by strangers. My new family put me in a little green cage and stood back to watch me explore my new home. The bedding was warm and cozy. I ran on the wheel for a while before going to my food bowl to eat some seeds. I went underneath my wheel and decided it was a good place to sleep. I was still afraid of these humans, but as time passed, I started to like them! Ashley makes lots and lots of fun toys for me and gives me lots of yummy food! I am now Ashley's best friend and both of us are inseparable. It seems that being a pet isn't that bad after all!

Getting to know each other

I will be sharing more about myself and some of my friends in the neighbourhood! I hope that we can be friends and I would love to hear from you soon! You can email me at dinoangmaomao@gmail.com

Yours faithfully,

A Letter to My Dino Boy

PitaPata Dog tickers

Hello My Dearest Ah Pi,

How are things over the Rainbow Bridge? Hope you are having loads of fun with your friends. It has been a year since you left us. They say time will heal, but the pain of losing you lingers. I still find myself missing you and crying at night.  I have been keeping myself busy during the past year, but somehow the void in my heart cannot be filled. Sometimes, it aches so much, I just feel like taking out my heart to squeeze it and numb the pain.

On that fateful morning last year, Ashley and I were lucky to have gone for walk with you and I am so glad that I took some photos of both of you, your last photos together.....they are so precious!

Last pic with Ashley

my daily dose of happiness

I still find it very hard to talk about your last day with us. It was too sudden and traumatic for me. We went to the vet together and returned home without you. You were so strong and healthy, I always thought that you will grow old with us and I never in my wildest dream expect you to leave us just like that. We didn't even get a chance to say goodbye. :(

The floor is too clean now, to the extent that it squeaks. The house is too quiet and empty now that I can only hear my own breathing. I miss having you under the table as I eat or work on the computer. I miss your thumping tail on the shoe cupboard as we return home. I miss your moaning and groaning with a toy in your mouth as you welcome us home. I miss cleaning your itchy skin with lavender tea. Even though you stink sometimes, I still miss your smell. I miss our walks at Bedok Reservoir on special days of the year. There are so many things I miss about you, but most of all, I miss having you by my side.

Dino, thank you for teaching me a lesson about loyalty and unconditional love. You are the best dog that any owner can ask for. I look forward to the day we meet again and make sure you will be at the bridge welcoming me with your thumping tail and toy in your mouth.

I love you more than words can say,

Mummy Julia

P.S. For those of you who have lost a pet, I share your pain and please take comfort that we will all meet again someday. I dedicate this Rainbow Bridge poem to you. Read it over and over again when you are missing your special friend.

I will always be ten!

Hello Family and Friends!!! Hope you are all well and happy! February is always a special month for me because my birthday falls on that month. I would have turned 11 on 11th of February this year, but since I have departed for the Rainbow Bridge, I shall always be 10 years young! Anyway, I managed to meet up with my friends at the Bridge and we all had a blast on my birthday! Life is good here, you know?

Mom has finally uploaded my 10th year birthday celebration video on YouTube. Duh! It's a year late, but better late than never, she says! It was a very fun celebration with my loved ones, Daddy, Mummy, my two Grandmas, Auntie Ellen and Ashley. Niu Niu (Jack Russell Cross), Grandma's dog also turned 10 years old last year and joined us for my birthday picnic at the beach. We were all thrilled to have her because she has never swam in the sea before. I was also very happy to have Amanda, Uncle Jack and Auntie Jenny with us at the beach! It was a lovely sunny day at Tanjong Beach in Sentosa and we had loads of fun! I also want to say a big thank you to Auntie Ellen for the yummiest carrot cake!

Do check out the video below, I hope you like it!

Lots of Love and Warm Hugs,

Wishing you a Jolly Christmas!

For our dearest Family and Friends who have been receiving annual Christmas cards for many years now, we apologize for not sending any this year. It is just too heart-breaking for mom to create one without me as a model. She says Christmas will never be the same without me.

So in memory of the many Christmases that we have spent together, I have put together a collage of the last nine Christmases. I hope you like it. May I also take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a very Blessed Christmas and a New Year filled with good health and happiness!

Lots of Love and Warm Hugs,
Dino @ The Rainbow Bridge

Goodbye, My Family and Friends

I am sorry I have to cross over to the Rainbow Bridge today at 10pm. I had a bloated stomach and had difficulty breathing. Daddy and Mummy rushed me to the 24-hr vet and I had an X-ray taken. The vet confirmed that it was not bloat and she suspected that I have something lodged in my esophagus instead based on the X-ray scan. While the vet was explaining to Daddy and Mummy about my condition. I started to cough and breathe abnormally. Then, she noticed that my gums and tongue had turned purple and within seconds, I passed out. The vet tried to resuscitate me, but to no avail.

Here is a photo of me before I went in for the X-ray.

Till we meet again, my friends! Thank you for all your love and sharing My Golden Journey during the last 10 years!

Love,
Dino
