Look at my furry cyber friends from The Gold Post! Don't you just adore them? I am happy beyond words for the fabulous welcome from them. You guys and your owners are the Bestest!
Yay! I have arrived safely at home yesterday. Thanks to everyone for your concern, thoughts and prayers during this adventure. I am doing great at home, there are so many new sights and smells and I am having a good time exploring all the new places. I arrived at around 10am yesterday morning and Dad and Mom brought me to the Da-An Park 大安森林公園, it is the biggest green area in downtown Taipei and just 10 minutes walk away from home. It is modeled after Central Park in New York and inaugurated in 1994.
The park is huge and you can find all kinds of trees, a bamboo forest, colorful flowers, a lake, an open-air music stage and a children playground. There are also basketball courts and in line skating rinks. At any time of the day, you can find people walking, running, cycling, playing and dancing. And of course, here you can see many of our furry friends too.
After playing in the park, we went to Grandma Nitti's, a very pet friendly restaurant where breakfast is served all day long. Then, we went to a pet store to take a bath, I haven't had one for 3 weeks! The pet store has one of those dryers that look like an oven, it's nice and warm in there and I stayed in it for about 45 minutes until I am thoroughly dried.
After the bath and grooming session, we headed for home, it was a really long day for me and I slept very well on the first night at my new home. Here is a video clip of the day's event, enjoy! Woof Woof!!!
Yay!!! Finally, I will be going home tomorrow! It has been a really long time away from home, I am so glad it is coming to an end. Yesterday, was my 22nd month birthday, but there was no visiting appointment, so Mom only managed to take my birthday photo today.
Mom is going to be really busy today, she has to clean up and dino-proof the house to welcome me home. Dad has taken the day off tomorrow, I think they are bringing me to the park tomorrow....ooooohhhhh....I can't hide my excitement any longer.
The quarantine station is almost completing their renovation works. There is a nice poster of dogs and cats who have been in quarantine there on display in their new reception area.
These packs of Kleenex tissue papers were spotted at the convenience store, the labrador puppies on them are so cute, we have to find a way to stop mom from buying all these stuff with cute puppies on them.
Mum visited me today, we played fetch for a while and then I got bored, so mum gave me a nice relaxing massage as I gnawed on my giant bone.
As mum was leaving the hospital, she met a group of students with a golden retriever. Mum found out that the golden was found outside the university and they brought him to the vet at the animal hospital which I am in. Unfortunately, they were not allowed to have the golden checked because the hospital does not attend to strays and the dog did not have a micro chip on him.
However, they did find out that the golden is about 5 years old from the vet. It looked more like a puppy or a medium sized dog to mum because he is a lot smaller than I. The poor boy also has some skin problems and he has patches all over his body, I really hope that he is just lost and not being abandoned to the streets. We have created a page for him at my site to help him find his way home. You can see it here , please keep your fingers, toes and paws crossed that my friend finds his family soon.
Just 9 more days to go, I can't wait to go home. I can't stop whining every time mum leaves after her visits. It always breaks her heart, but I really hate to be left alone.
As most of you already know, I am now in the animal hospital fulfilling my 21-day quarantine stay before I can go home. Mummy came to drop off a big bone and some toys on Saturday, but I didn't get to see her as there are no appointment slots on weekends.
Then Monday came and Mummy visited at 9.45am, but was told to come back at exactly 10am. I had a surprise for mummy...... I have developed a small hot spot on my forehead over the weekend. sigh.... mummy is worried that it will get worse like the last time and I had to be shaved bald, so she spoke to the vet. Vet said she will give me some medication and put the e collar on me.
After that, we spent an hour and a half playing in the visitor room. Mum and Dad had scoured the pet stores, but couldn't find Timberwolf and so they brought my new food, it is called Oven-baked Tradition - Fish Recipe from Canada, hopefully that will be good for my sensitive skin.
Will keep you all updated during my stay, just 17 more days to go!
Don't worry, my friends! I have not gone missing, I was just busy preparing for my big move. I have arrived in Taipei safe and sound and I am now fulfilling the 21-day compulsory quarantine stay at the animal hospital. First, just to let you all know that I am fine, here is a photo of me on the first day of arrival:
I hate to be away from Daddy and Mummy, they are only allowed to visit me 3 times a week, but I am quite comfortable here, the quarantine center is clean and I have my own cubicle, the vets here are really nice too!
Really sorry for making some of you so worried about me, will give you all more updates as we go. Meanwhile, don't miss me that much, I will be home soon! Take care, everyone! Woof!
