Things have been busy around here

My Oh My! I have not posted in a week! Sorry to have made some of you worried about me! I am doing well except for a hot spot at the base of my tail. Mom got some cream from the vet for me, but she has been on her wit's end trying to keep me from licking the spot. I have been able to lick the wound even with the e-collar on and that is driving her insane!

Anyhow, just to let you all know that all is well, we finished sending out our Christmas cards and I hope they arrive on time for everyone. I have also received some lovely cards from my friends all over the world and I will have to dedicate a new blog post entirely on that. Thanks so much for sending these cards to me! I love them all!

Here are two photos from my last hospital visit.

This is Xiao Lu (小魯), it was our first time working together.

Ten treats on his paws! Xiao Lu has excellent self-control and is just too adorable!

I have to go read all your blogs! Be right back!

Hi Anonymous, hot spots are those nasty moist infected areas on our skin. Golden retrievers are quite prone to them and I do get them every once in a while. They have to be treated immediately because they can spread very fast. I am happy to report that the one on my tail is gone! I hope it never comes back again. Your golden girl is very lucky! Please give her a tummy rub from me. Love, Dino

Hi Dino
You are in great company as I get hotspots now and then! They usually are worse in hot weather - so not much trouble where I am in little old England! Also worse when I get wet,dry,wet,dry,wet....... which is most of the time! Tea tree oil cream/balm works a real treat on the hotspot and clears it up. Happy Christmas,
Paddy

Hi, all... O.C. (Ornery Cuss) here...

Tea Tree Oil mixed wih Vitamin E and Aloe Vera does help hot spots... at least it always helped my housemates when Mom used it on them. Then, she found out that if she didn't feed them dogfood with corn in it, they didn't get them, so for the past several years she only used foods like lamb and rice. This year, someone gave her a 50 lb. bag of a big name dogfood that had corn in it, and within a month, our Border Collie got hotspots again.

Mom says she'll never try it again!!!

Good luck, O.C.
