National Day Message 2014

In Loving Memory of Howler

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. My buddy in Taipei, Howler passed away on 24th July 2014. Howler is eight years old like me. He left peacefully while staying at a pet hotel.

Howler.... we spent some of the best times of our lives with you.  Thank you for the wonderful memories, especially our swimming vacation and trip to Miaoli together. You will live on forever in our hearts.

Big warm hugs for Howler's family. We love you too!

Ashley is 5!!!

My goodness! How time flies! My little sister, Ashley has just turned 5! Like all the other preschoolers we know, she wanted to be Queen Elsa, so we planned a Frozen party for her! Special thanks to all the people who helped to make it possible! Muah!!!

We requested for no gifts as we simply have no space for more toys and we thought it would be a great idea to turn the party into a mini fund raising event for SPCA (Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals, Singapore) instead. (P.S. We will be bringing the donation tin and the proceeds from the merchandise sale back to SPCA at the end of the month and we will let you all know the total amount that we have raised for the animals.) On behalf of all the animals in SPCA, we thank you for coming and supporting our cause.

The SPCA is not a government agency. They do not receive any financial grant from the government and depend mainly on donations from the public.

Every month, SPCA  takes in more than 400 animals, they include unwanted, abused, abandoned pets and strays. If you are looking for a pet, do check out the adoption gallery at SPCA, they have dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils/mice up for adoption.

Finally, having a pet is a huge responsibility and we just hope to spread one message to everyone:

To you, he is your pet. 

To him, you are his Everything.

Sunday Scoot

My family went scooting round the Bedok Reservoir on Sunday and I had a good run. We stopped by Wawawa restaurant for dinner at sunset before we headed home. It was a tiring but good workout for everyone!

Happy 48th Birthday, Singapore!!!

It's our National Day today! We went to Bedok Reservoir (勿洛蓄水池) to commemorate this big day! We are very lucky to be living in Singapore, a clean, green and beautiful city!

The weather was just perfect on this Friday morning! Look at the gorgeous blue sky and fluffy white clouds! I hope it stays this way for the National Day Parade tonight!

I was planning to take a nice cool dip, but everyone said No!

 

The perimeter of  the reservoir is about 5 km and it took us close to two hours to complete it. Ashley ran for the first kilometer while Dad and I ran ahead.

I was totally wiped out when I came home. All of us took a nice nap and we will be watching the parade from home with a pizza feast tonight. Happy Birthday to our wonderful country!!! May you be blessed with peace and prosperity always!!!

Today is a very sad day for my family as we helped Uncle Kryster, our family dog of 17 years cross over to the Rainbow Bridge. We miss him terribly already.

Thank you for all the wonderful memories!!! We love you, Kryster!!!
