Day trip to Wulai Waterfalls 烏來瀑布

It was a perfect day for a road trip on one of the days after my Dr. Dog service at the hospital.

Let me think of a place to go!

I looked to the left

and to the right....no one in sight! Maybe I should play some fetch first.

Lift off!!!

Got it!

Such a good weather, I think we should check out Wulai.

Wulai is a tourist town well known for its hot springs, sightseeing, and aboriginal culture. It is also a popular place to see cherry blossoms in spring.

Our first stop is the famous 80 meters high Wulai Waterfall (烏來瀑布).

Here it is!

Err....that's all?

That's quite a sad trickle of water. Seriously I expected more of it, I was thinking of seeing something like The Niagara Falls!

At least the magnificent view and fresh air made up for the sad looking waterfall.

This is the cable car that takes you to Yun-xian Theme Park (雲仙樂園) which is on top of the mountain hill. We were told that the building of a man-made lake at the park resulted in the significant decrease of water at the waterfall. Such a pity!

Time for lunch!

We are going to try some Aboriginal Tribe food.

Steamed sticky rice in bamboo tube

Chicken!

Freshwater fish cooked in two ways, steamed and

boiled in soup.

Bitter gourd with salted egg and fried noodles.

All paws up for the fresh and yummy food and then we said bye bye to the miserable waterfall.

  1. That sure is a sad waterfall. But I wonder what would happen if you just slide down from up there? I think that would be fun! The food looks absolutely great. Aboriginal food is good.

  6. Dino,

I think the falls are pretty even if they're kinda skinny! Have you heard anything about that little Pug dawg you guys rescued? I was wondering how he was doing.

  18. Dino, you are so handsome with your hospital outfit! And what a pleasant thing to go out with your mom after hard work at the hospital.

Wonderful landscapes, great lunch! You're so lucky to live in a warm place. Here it's all white and very cold. I love cold weather, but mom hates it big time. And she freezes each time she takes me out.

    Hugs and love
