Shake Hand!

shake

Shaking hands is a very easy trick to learn and it is also a great way for your dog to greet people. First, get him to sit, then squat down in front of him. Then, give him a little tickle at the back of his front paw with your fingers. Sensing the tickle, he will lift his paw. As he is lifting, say the command with his name, for e.g. "Dino, shake hand". You will have to put your hand forward to hold his paw. Remember, timing is very important. After you have his paw in your hand, as usual, give him lots of praise and treats. He should be able to do it without the tickling after a few tries.

When he has mastered it, you can proceed to "left hand" and "right hand". You can switch hands by putting your hand closer to whichever paw you want. He will lift according to your hand. Use the command "left hand" and "right hand" to impress your friends. They will think that your dog really understands left and right but actually he is just reacting to your hand movements.
